Summer Camp 2025 Reflections
This summer, as Youth Ambassadors of Akshaya Patra San Diego, we had the privilege of helping lead a community-driven Summer Camp Project aimed at making a real difference. It was truly a meaningful experience that connected youth leaders, engaged local families, and most importantly, supported the mission of feeding underprivileged children.
We believe that youth have the power to lead change, and this summer camp project was a way to channel our energy, creativity, and compassion into something purposeful.
Our Three-Fold Mission
With the support of Akshaya Patra San Diego, our goal was three-fold:
To engage and educate local children through fun and enriching activities
To raise funds and awareness for children in India who go to school hungry—or not at all
Grow youth ambassadors as compassionate leaders of tomorrow
The Impact on Our Community
Proceeds from the camps helped raise vital funds to support mid-day meals for school children in India. These meals are more than nourishment—they are a lifeline to education.
For many children, the promise of a nutritious meal is what brings them to school. And once they are there, the possibilities open up. They can learn, grow, and dream.
We know that education is power. But education cannot happen on an empty stomach. Through Akshaya Patra's mid-day meal program, students are not only fed but empowered. Our summer camp was one small part of a much larger movement, and we are incredibly grateful to have contributed.

Our amazing 30+ youth ambassadors didn't just teach at the camps – they got a firsthand experience of running a program from start to finish!
Fundraising Recap
We are proud to share that, together, our youth ambassadors were able to raise an astounding $6,685 – all of which will go towards supporting Akshaya Patra's mission of eradicating classroom hunger and promoting education for underserved children.
